I'm continuing to explore 6"x10" collages in-between working on fiber projects. To learn more about this series, please click here.
The multi-colored magazine scraps in this collage were leftover from the first collage of this series. The scraps were odd shapes, which I like and didn't want to cut up or reshape. To be honest, working with these odd shapes really challenged me to find a pleasing design. It's taken me over a week to decide that this collage is done. The final step was adding the solid orange pieces.

I'm continuing my 6"x10" collage practice using only magazine pages. The limited materials are helping me to focus on design and color.

Before I determined that this collage was finished, I removed the color in Photoshop. It's a great way to see if the color value is balance. It, also, helps to squint your eyes while assessing the design. I notice that I tend to stay in the medium value range with my artwork. The dark, medium and light value shapes in this collage seem pretty balanced.
