Quick layered and transparent sketches in my altered book sketchbook

Back to Basics: Grayscale Collages
For this video, I thought we would create two collages in grayscale. It's such a great exercise, especially if you’re new to collaging or art in general. It forces you to see beyond color and focus entirely on how light, mid-tone, and dark values work together. Learning value contrast helps in creating a successful piece of art. Leftover Scraps Collages #9 - large collage cut into smaller collages
My leftover scraps container is full. I like to use these scraps to create small collages but this time I'm doing it differently. I'm starting with a piece of 16"x20" 140lb watercolor paper to collage on top of it. Then I cut it into 4"x5" collages. Thanks for checking out my blog post!

Creating painted papers using Absorbent Ground
My painted papers stash was getting low with all the collages I created last month. Instead of monoprinting or hand painting papers, I decided to use Absorbent Ground to create stained/watercolor looking papers. Thanks for watching!
