Day 4 of my Rolodex Project. You can read about this project here.
Today's 3" x 5" artwork was made from more artist dyed fabric scraps and stitched with Valdani Pearl Cotton thread - #1310 Bright Yellow, #204 Bright Orange Coral and #1333 Christmas Red. I like how the warm colored thread plays against the cool colored fabric.
Thanks for stopping by!
I love this Mia! A wonderful display of art for a coffee table. Love the vintage rolodex too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Teresa! I'm having so much fun with this project.
DeleteWell howdeeee, you've done it again! Another miniature work of appealing art. Question: How did you manage to cut such great holes with slots through the Pellon and fabric? Do you have a specialty punch or do you cut them with sissors? Such refined work as this is quite inspiring.
ReplyDeleteGood question, Linda. I use an original card insert from the Rolodex as the template. I cut the pellon to size first. The slots are cut using small scissors so I can get into the area. After the fabric is attached to the pellon, I use the same small scissors to cut the slots using the pellon as the guide. I hope I'm explaining it clearly. I'll bring this project to the next BTE meeting so you can see it close up. xoxo
DeleteMia, this is such a cool idea for a project. Even I wouldn't be too lazy to make one of those cards/day!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deborah! I had to figure out what to do with the old Rolodex and work on a project while job hunting. Yes, I'm still looking for a job.
