Starting today, I'm going to create a piece a day until March 31st. This time around I'm using my fabric scraps to make 3" x 5" pieces that will fit into an old Rolodex. This project is helping me to use up my fabric scraps, to practice hand stitching and to create a 3D sculpture using the old Rolodex.

I cut up 31 pieces of Pellon 72F II 2-sided fusible as the support for each piece instead of using the actually card stock from the Rolodex, which I found to be too flimsy.

Today's artwork is made from scraps of rusted and hand dyed fabric. I hand stitched using Valdani's Rayon Varigated thread in Old Rose and Brown Vintage Hues.

Love this idea, Mia! Your first 3"x5" fabric "card" is very appealing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! I hope I can keep it going.
