I must say that I really like the design of Collage #54. It could be a good start for a fiber piece.
I started by gluing torn pages of a magazine off center vertically down the journal page. Then I painted white and black acrylic paint over the top of the whole page. I wanted convey some sort of division so I painted the left side of the page lighter than the ride. To accentuate the design's two sides, I cut red paper strips and glued them on either side. At this point the collage looked almost done. I've been wanting to incorporate odd shape circles into a collage so I took out a black Sharpie and freehand the circles.

You're definitely right. This would translate superbly into a fiber art work. Hope to see an evolution of this to fiber one day.
