This week's lunch time collages. A short video about the journal is here.
I finished the lunch time art journal that's featured in the video linked above. Here the two final collages.
I made a new art journal to continue this practice. This new art journal is a similar format. It's 4.5" x 5" with a 2" spine, 26 pages of 100lb Bristol paperand bound with the same binding method based upon the Coptic stitch. I used paper that was gifted to me by Gene Brownto decorate the outside and inside covers.
Here is the short video of this art journal, click here.
These pageswere completed in July. I realized today that I forgot to post on my blog. These pages were posted on Instagram where I post on a regular bases. You can find me @mia_bloom on Instagram.
I had a "what if" thought when I found an old, heavy weight cardboard fabric header in one of my storage boxes. The cardboard was a good thickness for a journal cover. Since the header is folded to hold fabric samples, there's a front and back piece. I cut off 5.5" from one end. Then I cut along the crease separately the front and back cover pieces.
Instead of making a journal with signatures, I opted to cut strips of 100lb Bristol paper and make an accordion style journal. I cut a spine from cardboard then attached the covers and spine with decorative duct tape. The opposite edges of the covers were decorated with washi tape. The final size is 5.5" x 3.5" x 1".
I took a much needed day off from work. I got up early and went hiking with a friend at Santa Monica Conservancy Parkland. We took the Vanalden Vista trail. It was a great reminder that there are still places like this in Los Angeles.
I marked all the pages in the Mini Art Journal with lunch time collages. I want to continue this practice since I will be working mostly from home for the time being. I made a new art journal in a different format.
