Recently, I blogged about ice cube dyeing fabric. Well, I'm at it again. This time I only used one dye color - Gun Metal from iDye. The results were similar to my previous attempt. I really love the effect of one dye color as oppose to multiple dye colors.
The shirt dyed a bit lighter than the fabric but I am happy with both of them.

This looks really cool, so subtle and atmospheric. The top one makes me think of clouds, the bottom one, the ocean on a cloudy day.Wonder what you'll do with that piece?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny! I'm going to use some of fabric for a project that I'm working on for a group exhibit. It's fun dyeing just for fun, too. Building my stash of hand dyed fabric.
ReplyDeleteYour use of one color dying has made a timeless piece of wearable art, and a fabric that will lend itself to many applications. Sometimes a panoply of color, although eye popping, can date fabric. Very nice, Mia.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda, for the kind words. I really enjoy dyeing fabric using this technique.
